A Note from our Founder
“It was my first day at Tufts School of Dental Medicine, and I sat in a lecture hall crowded with 150 newly matriculated students. During the dean’s welcome address, he asked which fields of dentistry we each planned to enter.
“Who wants to be a general dentist? Who wants to be an oral surgeon?” “Who wants to be an orthodontist?” “Who wants to be a pediatric dentist?” As he continued to list specialties and I watched my classmates raise their hands, I drew a blank. I couldn’t see myself in any of the areas.
That’s when an idea dawned on me. I was surrounded by a room full of talented future dentists. What if I could bring them together and set a new standard of patient care—a clinician-founded, clinician-led™ dental practice that offered comprehensive services under one roof?
The concept behind Ideal Dental was born.
When we opened our first Ideal Dental office on December 1, 2008, I vowed to create a retail healthcare model that was genuinely guest-centric. Since then, we have remained steadfast in our mission: to partner with dentists to provide high-quality dental care while fostering a culture of clinical excellence, autonomy, innovation, and learning.
16 years, 10 states, and nearly 200 locations later, I am proud to introduce Ideal Dental Partners, a joint venture program that builds upon our mission by inviting entrepreneurial dental professionals to enjoy the benefits of ownership, while leveraging the best-in-class infrastructure and hard-earned reputation of the Ideal Dental Brand.
